Known for his dramatic roles on television and cinema, his first most notable work was as Alcides in the soap opera Pantanal in 1990. He was honored throughout his four-decade career with several important awards, including a Grande Otelo, two APCA Awards and two Quality Brazil Awards, in addition to having received nominations for a Guarani Award and two Shell Awards.
