What Others Said

Gimly: Even if you could somehow put the ignorant bullshit aside, _Satanic_ is still a strong contended for worst film of 2016. _Final rating:★ - Of no value._
GenerationofSwine: Yeah, the actors saved this one didn't they? Not all of them, of course, but most of the leads and Alice were solid enough to keep you watching. Because the script SUCKED. It had a ton of potential, it really did, but it didn't add anything to the genre, it didn't push any boundaries, and it wasn't really frightening. So what you have is a meh B-Horror saved by good acting and a direction that needs to really work on how to frame a scene while it relies heavily on competent lighting... ... and that is really the only thing you can sing out praise to production wise, the people that lite the scene knew how to light a scene. Especially at night. And if they knew how to frame a scene it would have been visually more entertaining and less bland. But the fault really lies on a script. If you can't re-work it to be something new, don't film it. 10 of 10 though because the actors need a bit of a call out, they saved it and made it watchable.
