Japanese Kiki (Sugino) and South Korean Kkobbi (Kim Kkobbi) arrive on Hong Kong's Lantau Island. They have both rented rooms at a hotel near the Mui Wo forest, but when they enter the lobby, the only other person around is a bellboy.
