Rebecca is on the trail of her sister, a young journalist who disappeared while investigating a series of unfortunate events. Her research leads her to Timere, a remote place far from the noise of everyday life, a place where there is the rigor of silence and the fear of something dark. Here Rebecca will meet an extravagant writer and the caretaker of the town church, but above all she will meet Caleb, a charming, rich and elegant man whose dark gaze hides a chilling secret. And it is precisely in this place, where time seems to move between the shadows and the threat is always alert, that Rebecca will soon learn of a terrifying truth and the struggle between good and evil will begin.
