A man and woman bond over their common fate. Both in their fifties, have lost their spouses and are struggling to cope. Gangadharam remains miserable with the loss of his wife, Vijaylakshmi immerses herself in music lessons. With monumental effort he summons the courage and asks Vijaylakshmi to consider marriage. Though she laughs the idea off initially circumstances soon reveal to her how lonely she feels in his absence and the value of companionship.
