Baber takes place in a macabre barber shop against the backdrop of the Cape Flats' patriarchal value system. Dônnie vanie Reevas comes in for a shave. Vikkah, the barber, recognizes him as the man who allegedly robbed and killed his only son. Donnie is in possession of his son's pocket watch.
