Overview

The Moors murders were carried out by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley between July 1963 and October 1965, in and around Manchester, England. The victims were five children aged between 10 and 17. This documentary is an investigation into a collection of photographs owned by murderers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley that police claimed may have led to the identification of the sites of their victims' graves.

I have seen at least one documentary and one drama on the story of Ian Brady and Myra Hindley’s Moors murders, so I was interested in seeing this even though I am not in the UK and therefore not as invested in the tragedy as many have been.

Whenever there is a program like this, I sort of assume the mystery in question will be solved. I mean, they found Richard III’s bones finally, right? But although some interesting context and details of why the location of the victims’ bodies were revealed, ultimately the specific answer they were searching for died with the killers.

A few of the readings of Myra’s letters didn’t quite feel pertinent to me, but overall the show was an intriguing look into her mindset, both at the time of the murders and throughout her remaining life in...
